IPI Council
The Council is the governing body of the Institute and is directly elected by the Members, by postal ballot. The Council has a membership of 17 - 20 persons representing the different types of Institute membership (Corporate, Graduate and Student), and representing the regional and sectoral branches. Each Council member serves a term of 2 years and half are up for election in May of each year. A new Council takes up office each June. The President and Officers are elected, from within the Council, by the Council members. Other Council members are given responsibility for aspects of the annual programme of events, which runs from June to May of the following year.
