Annual Subscription: Current Annual Subscription for graduate membership is €150
Entry Type One: IPI Accredited Courses For those persons who have obtained a primary degree or masters degree in Town or Spatial Planning from the courses accredited by the Irish Planning Institute. (see Accredited Courses)
Action Required:
- Fill in the relevant application form and send to the IPI Head Office
- Include a copy of degree certificate(s)
Entry Type Two: Members of other National Planning Institutes For those persons who are professionally qualified planners and have full / or corporate membership of another national planning institute or national association that is a full member of the European Council of Spatial Planners (ECTP) see http://www.ceu-ectp.org/ . A “professionally qualified planner” must hold a satisfactory planning qualification at degree or equivalent level and their course must be broadly in accordance with the Institute’s Educational Guidelines.
Action Required:
- Fill in the relevant application form and send to the IPI Head Office
- Include written confirmation of current membership from the relevant institute / association.
- Include a copy of degree certificate(s)
Entry Type Three: Other Planning Qualification at degree or equivalent level which is not accredited by the Institute, plus one year’s post qualification planning experience For those persons who have obtained a primary degree or masters degree in Town or Spatial Planning which are not accredited by the Irish Planning Institute, or who are not already a full / or corporate member of another national planning institute or national association that is a full member of the European Council of Town Planners (ECTP), graduate membership may be sought following at least one year’s satisfactory certified experience of Planning, following the award of such degree by passing the Institute’s Test of Professional Competence. In order to apply for the test candidates must firstly apply to the institute for membership in the normal way.
Action Required:
- Fill in the relevant application form and send to the IPI Head Office
- Include a C.V. outlining in detail the planning work experience (to be at least 1 year in duration) to be initialled by a qualified planner (preferably a corporate member of the Institute).
- Include a copy of degree certificate(s)
When asked to submit to the Institute’s Test of Professional Competence: Pass the Test of Professional Competence. Candidates who have passed the Institute’s test will then be invited to join the Institute.
